About Us

When Pet Play House first opened in the year 2000, we became innovators in the Reno/Sparks area in the concept of indoor/outdoor group play. The concept of group interaction, for both daycare and boarding, is a natural approach where participating dogs are properly selected for a healthy interaction of big and small dogs alike while being a part of a social pack with human leaders.

Since then, we’ve expanded to embrace our original concepts of indoor/outdoor play, with a facility built specifically for the purpose of pet care and luxury boarding, with unique activities and areas available for our doggies!

Our Mission

Our goal at the Pet Play House is to provide a happy, healthy, stress-free experience for your pet. We believe it is important to provide the comforts and feel of home, as well as the socialization dogs benefit from. Owners can rest assured that their canine family member is in a peaceful, fun, and safe establishment.

What makes us different

  • Home-like facility for all daycare and boarding doggies.
  • More than just “doggy daycare.”
  • We built our facility specifically for dogs.
  • Trained staff caring for all dogs.
  • Indoor play areas are connected to the outdoor yards, so dogs have free in/out access as they choose.
  • Large windows and skylights let the natural sunshine into the indoor play areas.
  • Outdoor yards are covered in K-9 Grass!
  • Small dog area with its own yard, separate from the big doggy areas.
  • Boarding webcam option for our Presidential Suite guests.

Our Facilities

Located just off Clements Ferry Road, just minutes from Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, and North Charleston!

Your pet will love our clean and spacious environment while basking in the love of our caregivers. Our facility features a variety of large indoor, outdoor, and combined indoor/outdoor areas for all types of play and weather conditions. And if you miss seeing that slobbering face, you can check in at any time via our HD cameras which overlook all of the play areas!

Reservations are required for boarding and do require a 50% deposit upon booking. The remaining 50% is collected upon check-in. Holiday weekends we always recommend advanced booking as we do get filled up rather quickly! We know life can happen and we don’t always have time to plan in advance. Should an emergency arise, we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

All appointments (boarding, daycare, and grooming) must be up-to-date on vaccines. The following are required, no exceptions: Rabies, DHPP (Distemper/Parvo) and Bordetella (kennel cough).

We do recommend Canine Influenza and being current on flea/tick prevention as well. Proof of vaccination from your veterinarian is required prior to your dog being checked in. If you do not have medical records or a print-out from your vet, we can email them in advance of your appointment, or we can call them to obtain the verification.

If your dog is being vaccinated for Canine Influenza or Bordetella for the first time, we require the initial vaccine to be given at least one week (7 days) prior to your dog’s visit with us.

It is your responsibility to provide vaccine records for your dog that meet our requirements. Please upload vaccine records to your Customer Portal.

We are required by the county to have the image of the vaccine record in your portal.

If you are having trouble uploading, you can bring your records in person and we can upload them for you.

The Canine Influenza (H3N2) is a two-part vaccine. We can accept your dog one week (7 days) after the first vaccine, if you sign our waiver.

If your pet should require medical attention while in our care, we make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. If we are unable to reach you, our customary procedure is to contact your veterinarian. All charges incurred will be your responsibility. If it is an emergency, we will take your pet to the closest veterinarian.

No! There’s no limit. We will take care of your pet as long as you need it. We’ve had dogs stay for longer than 30 days even!

The purpose of enrichment is to reduce stress in dogs and to reinforce socialization practices. Providing a dog with enrichment allows the animal to have a sense of control over their environment, which can help reduce and avoid stress.
